OUR PHILOSOPHY: Young people benefit from encountering a variety of types of dance, whether their aim is to acquire an appreciation for the art form, to become a professional, or to enjoy themselves – now and in their future. We are committed to providing expert dance training in a nurturing and social environment.
OUR PURPOSES:
1) to provide the recreational dancer with rewarding, challenging classes; 2) to train the aspiring professional; and 3) to increase community awareness and appreciation of dance as an art form.
OUR STUDENTS: Dancers who have passed through our studio have gone on to study and/or perform with Alvin Ailey, Kirov Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Forth Worth Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Colorado Ballet, Hartford Ballet, Boston Ballet, Geneva Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, and the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes. ABG dancers have appeared in Broadway musicals, Hollywood films, and have won titles all the way up to Miss America. They have also been accepted at the schools of the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Juilliard, Boston Ballet, Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Martha Graham (company apprenticeship), Robert Joffrey (company apprenticeship), and The Dance Conservatory at Purchase. The 2009 reigning Mrs. America trained with us. We currently have ex-students on Broadway in Mary Poppins, travelling internationally with the Shen Wei Company, and in professional ballet and modern companies around the world.
OUR PRE-PROFESSIOAL PROGRAM: Designed to provide the training and experience necessary for a potential career or advanced college/conservatory experience, while living in a normal home and school environment. Plans of study are tailored to individual desires and needs.
OUR FACULTY: We combine unparalleled expertise with sincere love of young people. We have performed professionally with ballet and modern companies all over the world. We have received advanced degrees from universities. We understand, from personal experience, the Broadway, Hollywood and Television experience. We are STILL DANCING!! Passing on our love of dance to generation after generation has been our joy for over 50 years.

There is a vitality, a life-force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. Keep the channel open. -Martha Graham to Agnes De Mille |
