Fletcher School

Our History

Our History is rich with a tradition of excellence and growth, combined with a family focus. Beale and Peggy Fletcher, the versatile "Dancing Fletchers," founded the school in 1948. The school moved to its current home in the historic Salvation Army building in 1972. Their son, Walter Fletcher and his wife, Linda Ray Fletcher came on board in 1979. In 1996 Fetcher School of Dance merged with Asheville Academy of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, under the direction of Ann Dunn, to provide the highest quality dance instruction in Western North Carolina.
